Mazda Eunos 1.8 S-Special Type II
I reckon this really is a cracking example of a Mazda Eunos: its a 1996 Eunos 1.8 S-Special Type II in Montego Blue with black cloth seats and trim. Mazda significantly improved the mechanical specification of the later cars including the later Series Two 133 bhp engine which featured an improved ECU, different compression ratio resulting in a touch more power (133bhp) along with a lightened flywheel and a Torsen 2 limited slip differential with a slightly shorter dif ratio.
What does that all actually mean? Well out on the road, this lot gives the car quite a different feel to the earlier 1.8, nicer to drive with much better mid range acceleration and an engine that revs a lot more freely. This one drives exceptionally well in any case.
This particular car has covered just 48,500 miles (77600 km) and is in super condition throughout. In late 2018/early 2019, it had substantial bodywork restoration including high quality repairs to sills and lower wing area. I have the photos of this work and it really is of an excellent standard. Paintwork is excellent with no scratches or dents and it look fabulous, sitting on its original and rare 15” BBS alloy wheels. These are fitted with Toyo Proxes, all in good condition.
Other highlights include VMaxx adjustable suspension, drilled/grooved brake discs with Green Stuff brake pads, front lip spoiler and a performance air filter. Specification includes electric windows, power steering, black cloth seats, Nardi gear knob, Momo steering wheel, stainless steel door speaker surrounds and sill tread plates. There’s a good collection of receipts too. Its also recently had both water pump and cam belt replaced and we have just serviced it and given it a new MOT.
This is an exceptional car in possibly the best specification and price is £6995. More details and photos to follow.
