Restored 1994 Mazda Eunos 1.8 in Silver
This is an exceptional Mazda Eunos 1.8 and its one that I am selling on behalf of its owner. On the face of it, this is a lovely car that has covered a relatively low mileage of just 86000km (53000 miles) and specification includes electric windows and mirrors, a Torsen limited slip differential and BBS wheels but there’s quite a bit more to it than that…
In 2024, its current owner carried out a comprehensive ‘nuts and bolts’ restoration of the car with many new parts fitted. A huge amount of time, money and skill has been put into this and the results are quite something and I suspect the asking price doesn’t go anywhere near covering the true costs of labour and parts involved.
First registered in Japan in April 1994, this is finished in Stone Silver with black interior trim. The seats are black leather and show a little wear commensurate with the cars age (but no holes, tears or other damage). Dashboard, carpets and interior trim are all in good condition and its fitted with a decent JVC stereo. Both gear knob and handbrake handle are leather items which match the leather-rimmed Momo steering wheel.
Bodywork is near perfect with excellent sills, wheel arches and wings. Underneath, all of the old paint and rust was painstakingly removed, treated and them undersealed. Its had a full respray (by someone well known in Japanese car circles and who has an excellent reputation) and the paintwork is pristine. Panel gaps are perfect and there are no dents, scratches and of course zero rust. Its quite something to look at and while I usually warn people that photos often make a car look better than it actually is, I think in this case, the car is even better than it looks here.
During the restoration, the engine, gearbox, dif and subframes were removed. The engine had a new cam belt fitted along with new water pump, auxiliary belts and new seals. All fluids were replaced including dif and gearbox oils. Subframes were powder-coated and rebuilt with new suspension bushes, new anti-roll bar links and new alignment bolts. Suspension is all in excellent order and are standard Mazda items. Reinforced rails and IL Motorsport braces were added which stiffen the car up slightly and improve handling. The underside is in super condition and again has zero rust. Brakes were rebuilt with new calipers, discs, pads, flexy hoses and brake fluid.
The car drives beautifully with no unusual noises and handling is very good indeed. Its sitting on BBS wheels fitted with Uniroyal Rainsport tyres all round. Its fitted with black mohair soft top complete with glass window and a matching tonneau cover is included.
The car will be sold with a new MOT with no advisories and a fresh oil/ filter service carried out. Price is £9500 and the car really needs to be seen to appreciate what good value this is.
