BMW Z3 1.9 - Excellent Early Car
I have this 1997 BMW Z3 1.9 in Boston Green with black leather seats and trim and I'm selling this on behalf of one of my clients. This is a great way to get into trouble-free modern classic motoring.
This car is absolutely lovely and has had so much money spent on it to make what must be one of the most worry-free Z3’s on the road. You’ll notice that there are cheaper Z3s out there but there’s a good reason why this is a touch higher in price.
A previous owner has carried out a huge amount of work on this and this includes:
* Sills replaced
* New tyres
* New space saver spare wheel
* Engine seal kit
* Short shift gear stick
* Fuel tank straps
* Front suspension re-build
* Rear suspension re-build
* Axle mounts replaced
* Soft top replaced
* Brakes replaced all round
* Handbrake cable replaced
* Battery replaced
* Fan belt and pulley replaced
* Wheels refurbished
* Mechanical overhaul - looks like it’s had an engine rebuild
* Full repaint in original Boston Green
* Clutch replaced
* Service - Oil and filter, air filter, replacement spark plugs
* Viscous fan coupling and thermostat replaced
* Various dashboard bulbs, switches etc replaced
* OEM Radio / CD fitted, New old stock BMW mats added
* Rear brake caliper replaced
* Gearbox serviced May 2025
Wherever I look, I can see new parts everywhere.
Bodywork is lovely with great paintwork, no dents, no scratches and no rust. Inside, the black leather seats are in great condition with no splits or tears. All trim and carpets are in nice clean condition too.
Out on the road, this is terrific to drive. Crucially it has the earlier M44 16-valve version of the 1.9 engine which is quite a lot more powerful than the later 1.9. This feels just right for the car and feels smooth and strong, along with a lovely exhaust note. Clutch, gearbox and brakes all feel just as they should. Its a really good drive.
Its covered around 110700 miles and is MOT tested until March 2026. It is a beautiful car that turns heads and is a pleasure to own and drive and its cheap to run and insure.
The current owner spent a long time searching for the right car and he's gutted that he now has to sell but he may be interested in a deal involving a camper van. Price is £3995
